Visit to the Mamun Academy in Khiva
CASIB visited the Khorezm Mamun Academy in Khiva to learn more about the Uzbek-German PreCultBuilt cooperation project and its work on the sustainable restoration and preservation of historic cultural monuments.
During a visit to the Khorezm Mamun Academy in Khiva, CASIB gained further insights into the Uzbek-German cooperation project PreCultBuilt, jointly implemented by the Deutsches Fachwerkzentrum Quedlinburg and the Mamun Academy.
The project focuses on resource-efficient, sustainable and authentic restoration of historic cultural monuments in Khiva. The restoration work includes the columns and saddle beams of the Juma Masjid, as well as ceiling and wall paintings in the Tash Hauli Palace.
Together, the teams from the Deutsches Fachwerkzentrum Quedlinburg and the Mamun Academy have achieved impressive results in preserving these important cultural monuments and Khiva’s unique architectural heritage.
CASIB was pleased to learn more about this valuable Uzbek-German cooperation and the approaches being developed for the sustainable preservation of cultural heritage. We hope that this important cooperation will continue and create further opportunities for collaboration in the fields of research, innovation and cultural heritage.
