New DFG Cooperation-Initiation Project between Germany and Kazakhstan
A new DFG cooperation-initiation project brings together Satbayev University the University of Applied Sciences West Coast to develop innovative approaches for monitoring and controlling high-voltage transmission lines across different climatic zones. The project marks another step toward strengthening scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany and creating new opportunities for joint research and future funding.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the DFG cooperation-initiation project “Monitoring and Control of 220–500 kV Overhead Transmission Lines across Different Climatic Zones”, a joint initiative between the University of Applied Sciences West Coast (Heide, Germany) and Satbayev University (Almaty, Kazakhstan).
The project brings together researchers from Germany and Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation in the field of energy infrastructure and develop approaches for monitoring and controlling high-voltage overhead transmission lines under different climatic conditions.
To mark the beginning of the project, the research team, led by Assoc. Prof. Saulesh Minazhova, Prof. Reiner Schütt and Dr. Nassipkul Dyussembekova, is currently holding a series of workshops and meetings at Satbayev University. Discussions also include potential opportunities for further joint research and follow-up funding with the German Research Foundation (DFG).
During a tour of Satbayev University, the German delegation had the opportunity to explore the university’s research facilities and meet with its academic staff. The visit highlighted the strong research capacities and potential for further international collaboration.
The launch of this project marks another step toward strengthening Kazakhstan–Germany research cooperation and further integrating Kazakhstani research institutions into the German and European research landscape.
