International Summer School on Soil Health Launched in Kazakhstan
More than 20 young researchers from Kazakhstan and Germany are participating in the International Summer School on Soil Health, where they combine expert lectures with hands-on field training in sustainable soil management.
More than 20 young researchers from Kazakhstan and Germany are participating in the International Summer School on Soil Health, organized by the Institute of Soil Science at Leibniz University Hannover with the support of the Institute of Geosciences and Geography at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU).
The program opened at S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University in Astana and continues with practical field training at the A.I. Barayev Scientific-Production Center for Grain Farming in Shortandy. Combining expert lectures with hands-on field exercises, the Summer School provides participants with valuable insights into soil health, land degradation, and sustainable soil management.
By fostering scientific exchange and strengthening the practical skills of early-career researchers, the initiative contributes to addressing the challenges of climate change and promoting sustainable agriculture in Central Asia.
