CASIB organized its first information session on DFG and BMFTR project funding opportunities on 12 June at Kazakhstan-British Technical University (KBTU). The event brought together researchers and academic representatives interested in international research cooperation and provided valuable insights into preparing competitive research proposals and accessing German funding opportunities.

On 12 June, CASIB organized its first information session dedicated to DFG and BMFTR project funding opportunities at Kazakhstan-British Technical University (KBTU).

The event aimed to introduce participants to available funding opportunities offered by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), as well as to provide practical guidance on preparing and submitting successful research proposals.

During the session, participants learned about key proposal requirements, the structure of a strong research application, opportunities for international research cooperation, and common challenges researchers may encounter throughout the submission process.

The session featured expert contributions from distinguished researchers from Germany, who shared their practical experience and recommendations on developing competitive research proposals.

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Hamidov from the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (Germany) delivered a presentation on “Practical Experience in Submitting a DFG Proposal” and shared valuable insights into the proposal preparation and submission process.

Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Grossart and Prof. Dr. Georgiy Kirillin from the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (Germany) provided participants with guidance on “Preparing a Strong Research Proposal”, highlighting important aspects of successful project applications.

CASIB sincerely thanks all speakers for their valuable contributions and expertise, and all participants for their active engagement and interest in strengthening international research collaboration.

The event marked another important step towards expanding academic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany and supporting researchers in developing high-quality joint research projects.
