CASIB, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), took part in the International Conference on Mountains, Climate and Health held in Bishkek on 18–19 June 2026. The conference provided a key platform for international exchange on the links between mountain ecosystems, climate change, and public health, with a particular focus on the challenges facing Central Asia and the need for coordinated regional and global responses.

CASIB, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), participated in the International Conference on Mountains, Climate and Health, held in Bishkek on 18–19 June 2026. The conference served as an important international platform for dialogue on the interconnections between mountain ecosystems, climate change, and public health, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities facing the Central Asian region.

The event brought together high-level representatives from government institutions, international organizations, and the scientific community, including the Vice Ministers of Environment of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, as well as Prince Aly Muhammad Aga Khan of the Aga Khan Development Network. Discussions emphasized the need for strengthened regional and international cooperation to address environmental risks and to promote sustainable development in mountain regions.

CASIB’s participation underlined its commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research collaboration and supporting policy-relevant scientific exchange in the field of climate, environment, and sustainability in Central Asia.
