On April 23, Peter Liebelt, Head of CASIB, and Patricia Romanowsky, Advisor for Scientific Cooperation in Central Asia at the BMFTR, met with Gulzat Kobenova, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, new BMFTR funding programmes were presented, including Excellence Cores (sustainable Centers of Excellence for research and innovation) and Agri-CA (supporting junior research structures in agricultural research in Central Asia).

Co-financing mechanisms were also discussed, highlighting the importance of joint financial commitments for long-term scientific cooperation.
