Turkmen delegation visits the Federal Foreign Office and Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space in Berlin

As part of the project ‘EU for a green Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024 - 2027’, meetings with the Federal Foreign Office (AA), the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMWK) were on the agenda on the first day of a week-long delegation trip by Turkmen scientists and politicians to Germany.

Delegation trip with Turkmen specialists to Nukus (Uzbekistan), May 19–23, 2025

As part of the “EU for a Green Turkmenistan” project, CASIB, together with GIZ, organized a study trip for Turkmen specialists to Nukus (Uzbekistan). The main focus was on the cultivation of microalgae for wastewater treatment and their material use as fertilizer or animal feed. Other topics on the agenda included agricultural production under extreme natural conditions (such as water scarcity and saline soils) and the breeding of brine shrimp (Artemia).

Biodiversity Conference, Nukus (19.05.2025)

CASIB took part in the International Conference on Science and Practical Solutions for Protection of Biodiversity and Ecosystems in Uzbekistan — exploring new opportunities for cooperation between Germany and Uzbekistan.

The event was supported by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Aerospace (BMBFTR) under Module 2 (Exploration & Networking) of its Central Asia framework.

Round Table: “German–Central Asian Research Policy Dialogue” within the framework of the C5+1 format on May 13, 2025, in Almaty

On May 13, 2025, the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), with the support of the project management agency DLR-PT and CASIB, organized a round table in Almaty for research policy exchange with political representatives from the Central Asian countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. The event served as a platform to discuss future perspectives for research cooperation. The round table was complemented by bilateral talks between the BMFTR and the individual countries.
