As part of the “EU for a Green Turkmenistan” project, CASIB, together with GIZ, organized a study trip for Turkmen specialists to Nukus (Uzbekistan). The main focus was on the cultivation of microalgae for wastewater treatment and their material use as fertilizer or animal feed. Other topics on the agenda included agricultural production under extreme natural conditions (such as water scarcity and saline soils) and the breeding of brine shrimp (Artemia). Among other visits, the delegation toured the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea Region (IICAS) and the Nukus Technopark. CASIB has been successfully cooperating with both local partners for more than five years.
