Joint Declaration on Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federal Republic of Germany

The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federal Republic of Germany, in their joint Declaration on Cooperation, signed during the visit of the German Federal Chancellor to Astana on September 16 and 17, 2014, supported the work of the Central Asia Sustainable Innovation Bureau (CASIB).

Meeting with the Head of the Scientific and Technical Information Centre (09.09.2024)

On September 9th, we met with Farkhot Rakhimov, the head of the Scientific and Technical Information Center of the MHESI (Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation) in Tashkent. The center was established following the Ministry's restructuring, aiming to integrate science, education, and innovation. With around 50 staff members, the center compiles and processes essential scientific information, like projects and publication results. This is crucial for preparing the commercialization of research outcomes.

Forum on Sustainable Use of Water Resources in Central Asia (04.09.2024)

On September 4, we attended the Forum on Sustainable Use of Water Resources in Central Asia, organized by the Kazakh-German University and the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University. The event was dedicated to the problems of water resources in Central Asia and integrated approaches to their solution. The forum noted the need for international cooperation and water diplomacy, as well as the possibility of human resources capacity building in the water sector.

Participatory approaches to natural resource management and rural development in Central Asia

About: The international workshop was co-organized by the German-Kazakh University (DKU) and Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE). This workshop explores application and cooperation opportunities for participatory approaches of stakeholder involvement in rural development, natural resource use, and food security.

Visit to "Hanffaser Uckermark" (27.08.2024)

On August 27th, we visited our CLIENTII project partner, "Hanffaser Uckermark," in Prenzlau (https://www.hanffaser.de/). The company produces various building materials from natural fiber raw materials, making an important contribution to ecologically sustainable construction. In Central Asia, we see significant production potential for natural fibers such as hemp and kendyr due to the region's natural conditions.
