WENex: Driving Innovation at the Water-Energy Nexus

Water and energy are deeply interconnected—water is crucial for energy production, while energy is essential for water supply and treatment. However, infrastructure investments often overlook the complex interdependencies between these sectors, known as the water-energy nexus.

From April 2 to 4, CASIB organized the first SuLaMaNET workshop in Germany. This BMBF-funded project aims to develop cooperative approaches in the field of sustainable land management. Eight experts from Kazakhstan and eight from Germany spent three days exploring potential synergies and formats for collaboration.
