On 18 November 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Berlin hosted the 1st German-Uzbek Higher Education Forum. As part of the forum, participants met with the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Uzbekistan (MHESI), who emphasized the importance of research for Uzbekistan’s development and presented the country’s research strategy, including the planned establishment of research clusters.
The forum provided a platform for exchange between German and Uzbek universities. Over 30 Uzbek higher education institutions traveled to Berlin to discuss potential collaborations. The impressive development of Uzbekistan’s higher education and research landscape is driving growing interest in collaboration from German institutions.
The German Higher Education and Science Forum – Central Asia (DHWZ) from 23–25 February 2026 will further promote networking between higher education and research representatives for cooperation with Central Asia.
