As part of the project ‘EU for a green Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024 - 2027’, meetings with the Federal Foreign Office (AA), the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMWK) were on the agenda on the first day of a week-long delegation trip by Turkmen scientists and politicians to Germany.

On the Turkmen side, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Education, the State Institute of Energy and the GIZ Turkmenistan office were represented by a total of seven people. On the German side, CASIB, GIZ and Clausthal University of Technology took part in the programme.

The CASIB/ MLU Representative Office coordinated the trip together with GIZ as an important networking measure within the framework of the project ‘EU for a green Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024 - 2027’, which is part of the Team Europe Initiative on Water, Energy and Climate Change in Central Asia. The core objectives of the project include the promotion of renewable energies and the reduction of methane emissions in Turkmenistan. The trip makes an important contribution to networking and scientific exchange between Turkmenistan, Central Asia and the EU/Germany.
