On November 22, CASIB conducted a session entitled “Natural Resource Management under Climate Change - Current Challenges and Future Perspectives”. This session was part of the International Conference on Transforming the Aral Sea Region into a Zone of Environmental Innovations and Technologies, organized by the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event engaged attendees both on-site in Tashkent and virtually from all over the world.
The above mentioned subject is supported by BMBF CLIENT II funding program (www.bmbf-client.de). For example, the ongoing KendyrTEX project (in Uzbekistan: ApocynumTEX) started this July in the Aral Sea region, is working on exploring the possibilities of using the Apocynum fiber plant as an alternative raw material in textile industry (www.bmbf-client.de/projekte/kendyrtex).
As part of the Aral Sea Conference and InnoWeek-2021, CASIB and the Ministry of Innovation in Uzbekistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to encourage the international partnership for sustainable innovation in Uzbekistan. We look forward to continued good cooperation also in the future.
