On February 20, we met with colleagues from the German-Kazakh University to discuss the concept of the SuLaMaNET project (supported by BMBF). The goal of the project is to develop and establish partnership structures—such as a platform, a research center, or a joint academic course—between Germany and Kazakhstan in the field of sustainable land management.
Sustainable land use is of great importance to Kazakhstan in the context of efficient resource utilization, especially given climate change and the increasing threat of droughts. Germany can also benefit from the expertise of Kazakh specialists in land management.
During the meeting, we discussed organizational matters related to the workshops planned as part of the project. These workshops are planned to take place in both Kazakhstan and Germany.
