Around 100 participants from Germany and Central Asian countries met in the Kazakh city of Almaty on 24 June 2019 for the stakeholder conference on the occasion of the inauguration of the CLIENT II regional office CASIB (Central Asian Sustainable Innovation Bureau).

Panorama of Almaty

Intensifying the transfer of sustainability innovations in the region and increasing research networking is the main concern of the project office. In view of the local presence, the cooperation and collaboration between German and Central Asian actors from research and practice is to be strengthened and further developed. Among other things, CLIENT II will contribute to strengthening Kazakhstan's research and education sector. International cooperation within the framework of CLIENT II also promotes the innovative strength and development prospects of Central Asia. Almaty is an ideal location because the city can look back on a long-standing scientific culture and has a young and dynamic start-up scene.

Participants of the CLIENT II Stakeholder Conference

The CASIB office is now available as an information and coordination point for all CLIENT II collaborative projects in the Central Asian region.
