In September CASIB met with representatives of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan to discuss progress of the on-going project and new opportunities for further cooperation. Among other perspectives on the agenda there is a strong focus on combining efforts and involving the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea Basin of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IICAS) for future partnership.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Innovative Development Shakhlon Turdikulova, the Head of the Department of Innovative Cluster Development Absalom Ishimov and the high-level advisor Karsten Heinz.
Currently, four projects in Uzbekistan are financed by the CLIENT II funding measure, an initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The project KendyrTex, for example started on July 1st this year. It deals with the cultivation and processing of Kendyr, the alternative fiber plant.
