Barayev-Institute, 3 to 5 September 2020
From September 3 to 5, 2020, the CASIB project office visited the Barayev Institute in Shortandy. The Scientific Production Center of Grain Farming 'A. I. Baraev' is the country's leading institution in the field of applied agricultural research and an important partner in CLIENT II projects focussing on land use (ReKKS, LINOKAS). The main purpose of the visit was to organize video recordings of the harvest and ReKKS and LINOKAS field tests. The video sequences were recorded by a specialist from KazNAU using a drone camera.
In addition to the realization of the recordings, an important goal of the stay was the exchange with the laboratory manager of the institute Kanat Akshalov on the current project activities. Kanat Akshalov is currently accompanying the harvesting process and taking samples to determine the biomass production.

Meeting with Science Fund, 7th September
On September 7th, 2020, CASIB met with the deputy chairman of the Science Fund, Bakhytzhan Sarkeev, to inform the institution about current CLIENT projects and to discuss possibilities for closer cooperation. The Science Fund promotes the development of priority, proactive, risk-oriented research and development activities that ensure the practical implementation of scientific research in the country. The will to intensify the relationship between the two institutions is also underlined by a recently concluded memorandum between CASIB and the Science Fund.
Meeting with IGTIC, 8th September
On September 8th, 2020, CASIB met with IGTIC to present the current project activities of the CLIENT II Program in Kazakhstan and to talk about possible cooperation. The goal of IGTIC is to facilitate sustainable development by promoting the transition to Green Economy in Kazakhstan. The IGTIC expressed its interest in supporting the projects in promoting their developed technologies.
